I have chosen Studiocanal established in May 1999 to
distribute our film. I came to this decision as they are in contact with Europe
which we a strongly believe would provide massive success as It would reach a
wider audience. Through my own research I have discovered Studiocanal is one of
Europe’s leading companies in the market for distribution and international
sale of feature films, also it’s the only studio operating immediately in three
main parts within Europe those been France, the United Kingdom and Germany. The
company distributes over 50 films a year throughout Europe.
Studiocanal have distributed films such as Alan Partridge:
Alpha Papa and Leap Year, I thought it would be a good idea to take a risk with
our target audience as its unexpected, and not what they are used to so I think
it would take off massively resulting it great success. Also a lot of the films
have a 15 or below age certificate, so current teenage viewers would be able to
access the film at cinemas. This is why I chose Studiocanal to distribute ‘The
Silencing’.
