Evaluation question 7.

I have learnt a lot since creating my preliminary task to my final film opening which I wouldn’t be able to of done in the past. My preliminary task taught me the basic as in how to create cuts, use match on action and different shots. In comparison to the silencing our preliminary was very simple to make as it was just a case of cutting clips together, however our film opening was a challenge due to elements such as technical difficulties and fitting the film to the music but it paid off as we go the results we wanted resulting in a really successful final piece. I have also learnt how to create mood and atmosphere within a clip, which in the silencing is very apparent that the mood is very eerie whereas there isn’t a clear one in our preliminary as all it basically consists of is Ashley running down the corridors. Learning how to use equipment was also apart of these tasks, this was very interesting as using the cameras in the correct way would benefit us in getting effective shots keeping the clip engaging. Furthermore, I have experienced how to put effects over our clip such as ‘old film’ also interpreting ‘fade ins’ and ‘fades out‘ avoiding the jumpy effect. All of these things I have learnt throughout my coursework have helped give me the best possible results for my film clip.
